Review: Kiss the Girl by Tara Sivec

Every once in a while I just want a book without any heartache or angst. I want to get lost, have fun, and escape for a little while. Kiss the Girl by Tara Sivec gave me those three gifts and more. This book follows Ariel, business woman and aspiring stripper with a hoarding problem and Eric, a millionaire part owner of a strip club. Yes, this book sounds absurd, because it is in the best ways!

I don’t want to say Eric is the perfect hero, but he’s pretty darn close. Kiss the Girl was very much Ariel’s story. If you’ve read the other two books in the series, you know Ariel is a bold, brash heroine fond of death threats and the F bomb. Eric takes her mood swings and craziness in stride and sees the woman beneath the bluster. He’s a great supporting character to his “princess.”

After reading book one and two, I wasn’t sure I was going to like Ariel. Cindy and Belle were crazy in their own ways, but Ariel was the ultimate zany lady in my mind and I worried I would feel this book was over the top. I shouldn’t have doubted Ms. Sivec for a second. This book IS over the top but only in the best ways. I loved seeing Ariel as her friends and Eric did: a tough outer shell protecting a soft core.

This whole series was a breath of fresh air and I want more! I can’t wait to see what else Ms. Sivec has up her sleeve. Whatever it is, you can sure I’ll be there for the ride!
