Review: Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

4.5 Stars

It’s official, Talia Hibbert writes the best character driven plots. If you, like me, loved the first two books in The Brown Sisters series, then you will simply adore ACT YOUR AGE, EVE BROWN. This book is almost entirely character driven, mostly because sparkly, effervescent Eve, and grouchy-yet-achingly-endearing Jacob don’t need much else but their emotional revelations and hilarious banter.

Eve is looking for her passion in life, and Jacob is trying to launch his B&B. They collide from the very first (and not in a good way) in a series of laugh out loud situations (one might involve getting hit by a car) forcing them to work and live together.

This book is like a balm for your soul. Eve and Jacob will capture your heart as they capture each others. I adored the banter, the duck moments, and watching two imperfect people click together perfectly. I did want just a little more plot. Not much happens in the book besides cute moments and emotional connections.

Overall, I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I feel like with the new characters introduced, Hibbert set us up for another family-based series and I’m here for it! This is my second favorite book in the series because Chloe still has my heart, but Eve is a very close second.
