Dang, Rebecca Zanetti knows how to end a series.
I’m going to put it out there: No one writes action/adventure romance quite like Rebecca Zanetti. To be honest, in other action romance novels I sometimes end up skipping action sequences if they’re too gratuitous or boring. I never have to do that in an RZ novel! She writes the perfect balance of high octane action scenes, smokin’ hot romance, and snort-laugh worthy moments.
Twisted Truths is the finale of Rebecca Zanetti’s Blood Brother’s series. It follows Noni, an Alaskan lotion maker, and Denver, a genetically enhanced super soldier. I love this book. Noni and Denver are so cute together. Well, ok, maybe cute isn’t the right word. They’re intense and don’t pull any punches in their relationship. Unlike most second chance romance, I actually understood why Denver pushed Noni away. Noni also makes him work for it, which I appreciate.
Speaking of Denver, man, was he dreamy. I loved his characterization. His intensity and “one woman for him” attitude made me a little swoony in the best ways. I love the way he changes when he’s with Noni.
This book has twists (as implied by the title), a truly evil, but not formulaic, villain, and lots of treats for people who have read both the Sin Brothers series and the Blood Brothers series. Not that you need to read the books in order. Twisted Truths stands well by itself but is a much richer story when you’ve read the two series in order.
As in many second chance romances, I do wish we had seen just a little more of Denver and Noni falling in love. I understand why the book is paced the way it is though. There was a lot to wrap up, and Zanetti did a fabulous job.
Overall, I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for an exciting and sexy read. Rebecca Zanetti is one of the best and you really need try her books.
Side Note: Can we please have a short story or novella about Malloy and Tina? I love them together!
