Review: Vendetta Road by Christine Feehan

Five Stars

I have read almost every single Christine Feehan novel and I can definitively say, this is her most erotic book to date, and she has written some very sexy ones in her time. Whew! That said, this book won’t be for everyone. It’s very low angst and leans heavily on instalove. As an instalove aficionado, I really enjoyed it! It’s the perfect escape read. I think the dark and erotic aspects of the book were really well balanced with the external conflicts and plot.

All the books in this series follow a motorcycle club of damaged and dark characters as they set up roots in a small California town and try to take down pedophiles. Ice and Soleil are Ms. Feehan’s take on “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”. Soleil is on the run from a con ring, and Ice is there to help her. Soleil is different than previous heroines in this series, because she didn’t grow up anywhere near a motorcycle club and Ice had to help show her the ropes and the rules without sending her running.

If you want to enjoy this book, set realism aside and just enjoy a sexy and intense story about two beautiful and damaged people falling in love, embracing their kinks, and learning to live with each other. The action picked up a little at the end, but this was more about the main characters connecting sexually and then connecting emotionally. Ms. Feehan always delivers and this book is no different.

Overall, this is turning out to be a very solid series. I love that CF feels comfortable exploring a darker and more erotic side of her writing and I can’t wait to see where she takes the series next. I know Absinthe’s book is next, but I am really looking forward to Savage finding his HEA!
