Review: Hideaway by Nora Roberts

May 27, 2020Leave a comment

Four Stars Nora Roberts is one of the best storytellers in the business, and HIDEAWAY is a prime example. This book was fascinating because it, in many ways, defied a genre. If I had to label it, I would call it a women's fiction with strong romance and suspense elements. The book focused on the … Continue reading Review: Hideaway by Nora Roberts

Review: Broken by Rebecca Zanetti

4.5 Stars I've been DYING for Wolfe’s book since the very start of this series, and of course, Rebecca Zanetti delivered for me! I mean, opening the book with Wolfe in leather pants?? Yes, please. Wolfe is the quirky, violent, tortured hero who has kept us laughing through each book in the Deep Ops series. … Continue reading Review: Broken by Rebecca Zanetti

Review: Dream Maker by Kristen Ashley

Four Stars One of the many reasons I love Kristen Ashley is that she always gives her fans exactly what they want. Are you missing her early books/series? Missing the Denver setting and Smithie's club? Missing commandos, crazy OTT drama, and stripper heroines? Then you're going to adore this book. Reading it felt like a … Continue reading Review: Dream Maker by Kristen Ashley

Review: Whiteout by Adriana Anders

3.5 Stars Romantic suspense and forced proximity go together like peanut butter and chocolate; Adriana Anders proves that during her series starter, WHITEOUT. The most intense stuck-together/survival romance I've read in a long time. I mean, it's set on the SOUTH POLE!! This book throws you in the deep end right off the bat with … Continue reading Review: Whiteout by Adriana Anders

Review: The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams

One Star I put this book off for a long time, and now I know why. It just didn't work for me. I love marriage in trouble books. Seeing a couple fight for their HEA is deeply appealing to me as a romance reader and realist. Reading about a couple stepping back and examining their … Continue reading Review: The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams

Review: The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler

May 15, 20205 Comments

DNF I had SUCH high hopes for this debut novel, and I think, in the end, it was a "it's me and not you" situation. I completely get why so many people enjoyed this book. The story started on a high note; Alaska settings and grumpy heroes are my catnip! The hero was giving me … Continue reading Review: The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler

Review: Under Currents by Nora Roberts

Five Stars I have been blown away. I'm gone. Guys, this might be one of my favorite books of 2020! I don't know why UNDER CURRENTS surprised me so much. Nora Roberts is the queen of romance. If you think she is coasting after publishing 1000 best sellers (approximately), you could not be more wrong. … Continue reading Review: Under Currents by Nora Roberts

Review: Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

4.5 Stars It's been a while since I truly could not put a book down. As in, when I blearily finished the last page of this delight of a story and glanced at my phone, it was way, way later than I ever stay up. I have no regrets, though! Alex and Henry have a … Continue reading Review: Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

Review: Get a Life Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

April 25, 20203 Comments

Five Stars I had high expectations diving into GET A LIFE, CHLOE BROWN, and I happy to report, I absolutely LOVED the book! I grinned, laughed, and felt all the feels while reading. Chloe and Red felt fresh and new and achingly familiar at the same time. Both characters were so wholly unique and well … Continue reading Review: Get a Life Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

Review: His to Defend by Rhenna Morgan

April 21, 2020Leave a comment

Four Stars I didn't know I needed a semi-dark mafia romance set in New Orleans in my life, but luckily, Rhenna Morgan knew! HIS TO DEFEND was a BLAST to read! The first book in a new series, the book follows a Russian mafia boss hero and he helps the single mom/local NOLA darling after … Continue reading Review: His to Defend by Rhenna Morgan

About Romance Reader

Hi Romance Peeps! My name is Teresa and I am a self-proclaimed romance aficionado with a BA in English and PR. My “real” job involves a grab bag of communications and community relations for a large nonprofit in the DC area. I probably read 5-7 romance novels a week. I take grave exception to people calling romance novels “smut” or “trash”. My #1 romance novel of all time forever and ever amen is “Dreaming of You” by Queen Lisa Kleypas. Read my posts to learn more about me, but mostly to hear my thoughts about romance novels new and old. Love you all!
